RG pointed out that there are fake entries and duplicate entries. He also pointed out some of thise duplicated entries have voted. But we dont know whether it the person whose identity it is.

What EC wants him to sign is a affidavit saying a specific person voted twice. RG cant prove that and shouldn’t have to prove that. knowing how impartial EC has reacted they would use it to punish the RG.

The rule 20(3)B quoted by ECI does not even apply in this situation. That rule is to allow objection to inclusion of a specific name in electoral roll within 30 days after it is first published. 

In Bengaluru Central case, election is already complete more than a year back. To time to file under rule 20(3)B has passed. So ECI will get to do the drama of an official investigation to buy time when everyone know the only logical outcome will be “nothin can be done now as election has already been certified, you filed after deadline” 

The equivalent is asking someone to file quality complaint against the condom manufacturer when your partner has already delivered the kid.

My guess is he doesn't want to have ECI do official investigation. See, vote chori isn't new. Almost every party in every state does that to some degree, including congress themselves. That's why no verification have happened over decades. 

So if an actual investigation happens it might also reveal similar cases of "vote chori" in assemblies where congress won, or other indi bloc parties won.

Impression is important in election. Currently him doing the press conference and presenting the list of "vote chori" paints a picture that BJP is the only party who has done it, or atleast they're the ones who have done the most(which likely is the case). ECI is in league with BJP and since BJP won, it paints them as the sole responsible party for this and congress as the "righteous" opposing force.

He wanna use this as a momentum to sway voters against BJP for next election.

If an official investigation happens and it reveals that similar things has been done by congress and other parties as well., the impression will change quite a bit.

So hope the investigating panel will involve cyber forensics team. It is sad there is a breach in the system and current government should address this. I was thinking now, all these data ECI already has in their database. I mean Rahul Gandhi had to manually go through them and find these fraudulent identities. I mean this should be on Purpose right. 

If ECI wanted they can write a simple python script which can identify these data anomalies like in minutes. **House number = 0, Fathers name = dfhgf,** many people having same house address. Even an intern can make this script. Use LLM if required. ECI can do this so easily. All they need is a laptop.

We should definitely join the protests as it will put pressure on Central govt and going forward they wont try to pull out the same stunts. They may find another loop hole but it will still result in a more fair elections.
Apart from the protests which is basically organized by INC, I would really like if the media houses seriously pick this story and run their own investigation considering the data is publically available.
This will further make this claim, credible and I think it will help voters to know whom to not vote in the upcoming elections.
Anyways Karnataka now has INC govt and with the major E20 fuel scam, my next vote in LS elections won't be for current ruling parties.

I am sure same problem exists in all other assembly segments, not just mahadevapura. Just because congress won other assembly constituencies, does not make those constituencies clean. I was only able to get a voter ID after having lived in Bangalore for 10 years. Not that I never tried before, but they ask for proofs and verifications which is very difficult for a person living in PGs and rented accommodation to get. But apparently it was very easy if i were a fake person

Assuming that whatever Rahul Gandhi is saying is true, what is stopping him from approaching the Supreme Court with all the facts? They have the best lawyers in Singhvi, Sibal, and Chidambaram. Let's for a moment assume that the EC is compromised and thus a puppet of the ruling party as Gandhi claims them to be but no one can buy the argument that the SC is compromised. If that was indeed the case, why would they strike down the electoral bonds scheme brought by the ruling party? Why would they strike down ED's stand in the MUDA case against Siddaramiah if they were working for the ruling party?

This is very well know fact that its very easy to get govt ids in india. In UP, bihar its very easy to get aadhar proof, state domicile, voter id, driving licence,etc. You through money andyou will get it.

I believe this is similar case and nothing new.
Its just no politician had guts to said it out loud.

Saying all this ,
I believe these voters id cards were generated for address proofs purposes for those who don't have any other valid proof.
Its very unlikely that BJP is involved in high level votes scam.

They can open the doors of SC at midnight and then when show something which might actually be something worth following up on , you just do a presentation and leave it. Literally someone from the audience asked if he can say this under oath and he said something like my word is good enough.

I remember BJP organizing voter registration drive in some newly build up Apartments in Mahadevpura area. This helped BJP a lot as most of the voters in such apartments wants to vote for a nationalist candidate. Also, one of the factor was the candidate choice for Mahadevpura constituency by Congress. 

Congress government never focused on Mahadevpura Constituency nor they are doing it now. For congress it is a golden chance to win hearts of Mahadevpura constituency by doing infrastructure development and launching new metro projects in the area which is need of an hour. 

CM can come and inaugurate new flyovers, underpass , better roads etc. Just by solving T Pass, S Cross and inaugurating the better infrastructure would help Congress gain a lot of votes specially in state elections.

Also want to mention, Arvind Limbavali comes and visits Apartments (even though it might be just for photo op). I never saw or heard any Congress MLA or MP visiting any apartment in the area .

Why Mahadevapura, specifically?
It’s important to understand that this area has a large floating population. Many people have moved to Bangalore for jobs and have been settled here for years, they’ve built their lives here. Expecting them to go back to their hometowns just to vote, or to remove themselves from the voter list there, is not practical.

I’m not defending any wrongdoing, but it’s unfair to single out one constituency and make a generalized statement. What we need is a proper enquiry to identify how many of these so-called “duplicate voters” have actually voted in both places. I’m quite sure that number will turn out to be significantly lower than assumed.
